Project Summary
Molly Kendall is a young adult author who was referred to me by her publisher, Rebel Queen to design the cover for her second novel, The Secret Ingredient to Falling In Love. Molly’s story centers around a young couple falling in love through a home economics class in high school. To bring this to life, I illustrated the couple described in her story as though they were baking in the classroom. Around them is a frame of cupcakes that are also in the book. The main protagonist, Sarah, is mentioned as “smelling like strawberries” so I included them as well. The illustration style was a request from the author and pushed me outside my comfort zone to create an adorable final product.
